September is Suicide Prevention Month

Take a Pause for Yourself or a Friend
This month, we invite you to make space for something every person needs: self-compassion.
Give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and take a moment to care for yourself. We can also encourage the people we love to do the same. Even a small pause can be a meaningful act of care.
Helpful Resources and Support
If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 to connect with the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. https://988lifeline.org/get-help/
Counseling may not be the first step for everyone. Learn more about supportive options, including yoga, peer support, and other approaches through Mental Health America’s treatment resources.
NAMI Greater Houston and NAMI Gulf Coast offer educational classes and support programs for individuals and families.
The Wellness Society provides free self-help and support tools, while Insight Timer https://insighttimer.com/ offers free resources for anxiety, relationships, and stress management.
